Walking Tour in Gdansk

WALKING TOUR IN GDANSK

Gdansk – the millennial city over the bank of the Motlawa River has the Main Town which is one of the most beautiful in Europe. After the World War II (which started exactly in Gdansk, on 1st Sept. 1939, just a few km from the city centre, at Westerplatte peninsula) the destroyed Old Town has been reconstructed, and now bring back to its previous glamour, which is attractive for tourists from all over the world. Approximately walking for 3 hours will take you to Gdansk’s most well-known sights.

The Long Street and the Long Market together form the Royal Road and rank among the most beautiful streets of Gdansk. You will find beautiful tenement houses and the famous Neptune’s Fountain that stands right next to the Main City Hall (built between 1379 and 1492) and Artus Court. You will also see The Crane over the Motlawa River that used to play the double role of a port crane and a city gate
(the present shape between 1442-1444). The St Mary’s Street beyond any doubt is one of the most beautiful parts of Gdansk, which is one of the Gdansk’s historic gems. We encourage you to visit the numerous exclusive galleries and tiny jewelry shops offering amber products,
a local jewel and trademark. We also recommend a visit to St Mary’s Church – the largest brick church in the world.
