Graffiti has its own history. Its beginnings reach the 1970s New York, where young people, often unemployed and in conflict with the law, painted subway cars and walls. In Poland, on the other hand, graffiti has been fashionable for 20 years. In the urban space there are various kinds of graffiti, ranging from scribbles by beginners, through tags, to more complex forms.
What are the kinds of graffiti? What is the difference between a tag and graffiti? What do words such as “cup” or “backline” mean in graffiti artists’ slang? The answers to those and many other questions will be provided during our graffiti workshops. However, it’s not only about theory. The workshops will also involve some practice. If you have ever passed by impressive works by graffiti artists and felt the urge to grab a can of paint to leave your mark in the urban space, the workshops are a perfect fit for you!
At the beginning the Participants will be divided into smaller groups, so-called crews, whose aim will be to prepare a design and select colors for their future work. It all will take place under the guidance of an experienced professional graffiti artist, who will introduce you to the secrets of spray painting and explain the basic rules of graffiti. Later the culminating part of the event will take place – the designs will be painted on a specially prepared wall!
The joint creation of graffiti art (e.g. connected with the visual identity of your business) will be a strong bonding experience for the group and will leave a tangible trace of your fruitful cooperation in the form of an unusual work of art.
